When I look at my congregation of Veterans, I look out and see Felons we have brought out of prison, Homeless we have brought from the frigid cold streets of the Mid-Atlantic, People with brain injuries, PTSD, Bi-Polar individuals, people who have given up on God as the result of 8 years of combat, Women who have Military Sexual Trauma (as well as a few men), Crack/Alcohol/ and other addicts, and the the older Veteran’s whose hair is white with the frost of many winters with cob webs of dementia dangle inside their brains. I feel blessed to have the challenge of serving them. I feel blessed to journey with them, and to be able to share with those who are simply looking to get their lives back.
